Questions & boundaries
Read the clear answer first.
These answers make the language, practical arrangements, and limits easier to understand before buying a book or considering in-person practice.
What does “cultivation” mean here?
It means disciplined inner practice and transformation. The term is used as an English bridge for Chinese traditions of sustained self-cultivation; its precise meaning depends on context.
Is this a religion?
The books and teaching map engage Daoist and Buddhist concepts. The site presents them educationally and in their traditional contexts. It does not ask visitors to adopt a religious identity.
Is qi scientifically proven energy?
No such claim is made here. Qi is retained as a traditional term and should be understood within the specific practice and textual context in which it appears.
Does Zhen Yi’s medical background prove the practice works?
No. His medical career is part of his biography. It is not used as clinical evidence for cultivation, awakening, or health outcomes.
Which book should I read first?
If the language is new, begin with REBIRTH. If you are specifically seeking a staged Buddhist practice map, review the second book’s chapter structure and decide whether its vocabulary fits your study.
How are course dates announced?
Programs are announced session by session. Each announcement should include the dates, teaching team, language, schedule, fees, meals, accommodation, travel guidance, accessibility information, and applicable terms.
Can practice replace medical or mental-health care?
No. Do not delay or replace qualified care. If you have health concerns or are in distress, consult an appropriate licensed professional.
What does Shifu mean?
Shifu (師父) is a Chinese relationship-based term for a respected teacher and guide in a living tradition. His English-language books are published under the name Zhen Yi.
